A little look of my 2 PAC artwork for a tribute show this week end. I’ve drawn PAC about a dozen so I’m familiar with key points in his facial structure. Waiting to see how the printed version of this piece look
The funny thing about a good idea is, you lose the value of it if you don’t put it in action. Afterwards, that’s when things start getting interesting. Sheree ReeSwa Swann is at the interesting part of her journey. The idea part is”The Royal Affair” art show which will be displayed at The City of ink August 17 2012. The jump start of the Happily Natural day weekend during Black August in Atlanta. It’s going to be a full and solo exhibit of her work. Displayed photos of Men, women and child being represented in different shades of black consumed by nothing but pride, honor and respect. It’s that Royal feeling we often have within us during our daily lives that help us get by.
The Action part. Work before and After work. Sand blasting and painting frames until new. Buying more frames.Editing, sizing and printing multiple photos. Promoting and still having photo shoots during all of this. Plus working that overtime at the job. Yea! I guess Taking a quick pic, choosing a filter and posting it on instagram is quicker. The Royal work continues. Salute!
Event: “The Royal AfFair”
location: 323 Walker St
Atlanta Ga 30313
date: August 17 2012
I was in a art show yesterday but I wasn’t at the show. The piece up top is what I did for that particular show. It was there but I was I work. At least physically. Mentally I was at the show from the time it started until the very end. I needed to take that trip because yesterday workload was beyond grueling. I can easily get depressed about it. But I’ll be at the job today hoping for a better day. I think it will be. But at the same time knowing better days are coming with what I do outside the job. Mama told me it’ll be days like this. In creole of course. smh
I’m helping Ree put together her Solo show in August. Should be a very dope thing. The job isn’t difficult. She listens and her work is Fantastic. We can’t LOSE!
I have to give a shout out to Ree of lens of life photography for actually taking my suggestion to be in the art show and printing out the photo I picked for her to display (which is shown up top) in the show. This is all about understanding that a person has the best interest for another person. Which equal”TRUST”. Any type of form of relationship is built on those five words”TRUST. The damn foundation of all things. At least the good things. But I’ve been in past situation where I had not one soul to help me out during my crossroads in life. That’s why part of me have this ‘I don’t give a damn attitude” and the other part help the massive out without a single thought when the situation permits. That’s my balance. But I mentioned to her I appreciate the fact that she did listen. I know how some people take it personal and create ideas that a ninja is just telling them what to do. And in some cases that is the fact (not with me) but don’t confuse it when it’s genuine. Anyway. She have 2 people wanting to buy the piece from the show which more than triple the money she got for getting it done. Yea! everything is real over here. 100
This how I spent a good part of my afternoon leading to the evening. I chose to partake in the Troy davis national boycott by actually working on the Troy Davis art show with a crew of masterminds. This journey to create this show is going to be challenging but what we have in store is going to be powerful and a full experience for the massive. Salute
